In 1996, Wes Anderson made his directorial debut with the feature film Bottle Rocket. A large majority of the movie took place at the Windmill Inn in Hillsboro, Texas.
Due to the economic downturn the motel’s business suffered, thus the Save The Bottle Rocket Motel event was born and became reality in July of 2011.
An estimate 250 fans took part in the festivities which included a showing of the film (courtesy of Alamo Drafthouse), attendance by none other than potential getaway driver himself; Robert Musgrave and the sale of a limited edition Mondo poster.
On July 21st 2012 the magic will happen again as the 2nd Annual Lovely Soiree to ensure that the Bottle Rocket Motel will be there for years to come.

-ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE WILL BE PRESENTING THE FILM, BOTTLE ROCKET, ON SITE!!! TICKET INFORMATION AVAILABLE SOON.
-This is not a party/convention, this is simply a group of people making donations by way of booking rooms at an iconic motel for one night.
-Attendees staying in overflow rooms at the Thunderbird Inn across the highway will be able to take part in all festivities the night of July 21st 2012.
-This event is in no way sponsored by any organization or individual and all proceeds will go directly to the Days Inn-Hillsboro to help them stay open for years to come.
-Breakfast will be provided by the hotel for guest staying on site all other costs are the attendees’ responsibility.
